WHO WE ARE
Our Purpose & Mission
We are A Child's Voice Child Advocacy Center, Inc.
A Child’s Voice Child Advocacy Center in Social Circle, Georgia exists to strengthen the coordinated community response to situations of child maltreatment, including sexual abuse, physical abuse, and witness to abuse and homicide. We accomplish this by integrating the existing resources of law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, medical and therapeutic agencies, so that perpetrators are held accountable for their actions and children are protected.
A Child’s Voice also exists to facilitate and support agencies, organizations, and individuals whose efforts are directed towards abuse prevention.
How Child Advocacy Centers Help Kids
A Child's Voice is a non-profit organization that provides: forensic interviews by specially trained interviewers; forensic medical examinations (when needed); family advocacy services, and community outreach, including trainings and education.
The Children's Advocacy Center model utilizes teamwork and coordination between all agencies involved in the case, while keeping the child first. The model prevents the child from having to experience multiple interviews with all agencies involved and allows for ongoing case tracking to ensure quality services.
Our Main Focus is the Child
Our child advocacy center is designed to meet the needs of children for whom allegations of sexual and/or physical abuse have been reported. We work to protect the children by gathering valuable information in a child friendly setting. See pictures of our center here. A Child's Voice is a facility supplied with state-of-the-art equipment that enables specially trained professionals to conduct effective, consistent, non-threatening forensic interviews and medical examinations of children who have made these allegations.
We operate under the supervision of our Board of Directors and Executive Director, Nancy S. Burgess, MSW.

Our Facility
At A Child's Voice, we offer forensic interviews, forensic medical examinations, case tracking through our multi-disciplinary team, family advocacy and support services, and community education and outreach.
A Child’s Voice Child Advocacy Center, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was established in 2006 following a four year collaborative effort by concerned citizens and professionals in the child protective services and law enforcement fields of the Alcovy Judicial Circuit, along with the Stephanie V. Blank Center for Safe and Healthy Children at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). The center was established to provide a comprehensive, coordinated response to child victims of sexual and/or physical abuse and child witnesses to violent crimes in a child-friendly environment.
The center's first location was in Covington, GA until December 2008, when A Child's Voice relocated to Loganville, GA and became operational. The center remained in Loganville until December 2012, when a permanent location was purchased in Social Circle, GA and the center moved in April 2013. The center's new home in Social Circle is centrally located to the agencies served in Newton and Walton Counties. By providing local services, the center accommodates the children of the community almost immediately and saves valuable hours for the agencies involved.
